Dudley Road stabbing - one arrested for attempted murder

One man has been arrested for attempted murder for stabbing a man in the neck on Dudley Road. Detectives investigating have dismissed rumours circulating online claiming the victim was pushing a child in a pram at the time of the attack. Police said the victim had a "trolley of belongings" and "no children were involved".

The victim of a stabbing incident in Birmingham, who is currently in stable condition in the hospital, was attacked at the junction of Dudley Road and Bellefield Road around 1:25 AM on August 24. Following the incident, police arrested three men and a woman in connection with the attack.

A 34-year-old man remains in custody on suspicion of attempted murder. A 22-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man were released and will face no further action. Additionally, a 29-year-old man was arrested and charged with unrelated offenses. Authorities have stated that they are not seeking additional suspects in this case.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with detectives reviewing mobile phone footage related to the incident. The victim suffered a slash injury and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police emphasized that the incident appears to be isolated.

Authorities also addressed misinformation circulating on social media regarding the victim's actions during the attack, clarifying that he was not pushing a child in a pram but was instead carrying a trolley of belongings at the time of the incident.
