Counter-terrorism detectives have four days to question a man from Manchester following his direct action against the israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems. Police were present on Highcroft Avenue in Didsbury over the weekend while conducting a search of a property.

The 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of committing, preparing, and instigating acts of terrorism, as outlined in Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000. He is one of 10 individuals, all detained following direct action at a Elbit Systems in South Gloucestershire last week.

The arrest during the early hours of Tuesday, August 6 was followed by a warrant allowing for the further detention of the Manchester man, allowing detectives to continue their questioning until Saturday.

Among the 10 individuals arrested, seven have now been formally charged. These individuals are scheduled to appear in Westminster Magistrates Court today, where the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) will argue that their offenses are linked to terrorism, as stated by CTPSE.

Additionally, a 45-year-old man from Warwickshire remains in custody on similar charges, with detectives having until Friday to continue their inquiries after receiving a detention warrant. A woman from South Wales, who was previously detained in connection with this case, has since been released without any further action.

Activist groups have been urging the public to show support for the detainees by showing up at the courts and demonstrating outside to draw attention to direct action. They insist that by manufacturing weapons that are currently being used by israel in its genocide in Palestine, Elbit Systems are the guilty party, and any action against them should be pardoned by the courts.
