Police have launched an investigation into a potential kidnapping near a pub in Warwickshire. A black BMW was seen driving in an erratic manner along Birmingham Road in Stratford.

The car traveled from the town center towards Wootton Wawen, where a passenger, a woman, reportedly engaged in a verbal dispute with the driver just before 11 PM. Tensions escalated, leading the woman to attempt to exit the vehicle as it approached the Navigation Inn pub on the A4300. She successfully got out before the car continued on its way.

Following her exit, several vehicles passed the woman until one female driver stopped to assist her. This driver helped the woman contact a friend, which ultimately led to the incident being reported to the police.

In response to the situation, authorities arrested a 24-year-old man from Stratford on suspicion of kidnap and false imprisonment. He has since been released on bail while investigations continue. Police are actively looking into the events that transpired on Thursday, July 25, and are particularly interested in hearing from any witnesses, especially the driver who stopped to help.

Detective Constable Donna Parry emphasized the importance of gathering information, stating, “We understand this is a concerning incident, but we’re keen to get to the bottom of what happened.” She urged anyone who saw the black BMW between 10 PM and 11 PM, or who has information regarding the incident, to come forward and assist with the investigation. Those with relevant information are encouraged to report it online, referencing incident number 110 of July 26.
